Lee qualified as a chartered accountant in 1991. He trained at Touche Ross, latterly known as Deloitte in Leeds before leaving to join a Cumbrian firm of chartered accounts as the audit manager. After 5 years there he decided to set up his own firm in 1997 and has been in general practice ever since.
